Charles Campbell in Soft Fences

McKnight Partnership Project Artist Fellow Megan Mayer held an Informal Showing in the Black Box Studio on February 23, 2012. During the residency, Mayer and collaborators focused on developing new movement vocabulary, an original sound score, and the installation of video footage. The physical exploration of displacement and isolation was also infused with her residency Entrypoints, which related to space travel.

For the showing, Mayer synthesized several ideas into a working draft, including the viewing of potential video footage to be incorporated into the work. She asked audience members to comment on the sequencing of events, as well as provide general feedback or impressions of the work. She and her collaborators concluded the evening by providing insight into their individual research experiences and creative processes for building material.
